Aerial Yoga

Experience the benefits of Antigravity Yoga

Aerial Yoga is a type of yoga which uses a hammock or yoga swing to allow students to perform postures that they may not ordinarily be able to attempt on the yoga mat. It is often also referred to as AntiGravity® yoga. It combines traditional yoga with moves inspired by pilates, dance and acrobatics. It is suggested that in addition to the emotional, physical and spiritual benefits of all yoga practise, Aerial yoga has particular benefits for strengthening and stretching the whole body, decompressing the spine, improving circulation, boosting digestion and lifting one's mood. In particular, Aerial yoga strengthens the core as well as the arms and legs, to support the body in mid-air.

SUP yoga (stand up paddleboard yoga) has become a trending water sport for yogis and those who already enjoy paddling around. The calm waters of our Bay are the perfect place to learn and improve this technique which can take your yoga skills to the next level. Practising on the water requires more strength, balance, and focus to keep your paddleboard steady when holding and transitioning between poses. In this workshop, you will learn not only the foundations of SUP Yoga and many postures modifications that allow you to practice on the board but also have the opportunity to explore the beautiful scenery surrounding you in a different way.

You will learn about Yoga Nidra, levels of consciousness and how they relate to the mantra OM as per the Mandukya Upanishad. Partner Yoga is a fun way to bring good harmony to relationships, experience the present moment together, connect deeper and be supportive with each other, synchronizing breath, postures and movements while increasing your communication and trust in any kind of relationship, whether it is friendship, a family member, or your significant other.

This class is slightly different than a typical Acro Yoga session. Although we do cover some basic Acro postures, the core of this practice is to gain confidence and skills to adjust and stretch your partner while learning new ways to make difficult asanas easier with their help.

Acroyoga is an energetic practice which combines acrobatics, yoga and healing/therapeutic practices such as Thai Yoga massage. In our workshops, you can learn a broad range of moves and techniques from a beginner up to an advanced level. A typical session consists not only of acrobatic and therapeutic flying, basing and spotting but also a great mix of funny tricks, strength, flexibility and technique training to take your practice to the next level. This workshop is the perfect way to get the tools to evolve your practice while making new friends!

In this workshop, you will learn variations of headstand, handstand, forearm balance as well as the different tools to help you get the body inverted. There are many small steps that we can take towards the full expression of these postures and we will guide you through them during this session, offering various ways in which you can get upside down with the help of props, a partner or the wall. We will also teach you technics to build up strength in the upper body and core to go into inversions safely as well as guidance to take care of your wrists, which bears most of the bodyweight in handstand practices. This workshop is not suitable for pregnant women, people with heart conditions, high blood pressure, recent stroke, neck injuries, detached retina, glaucoma and epilepsy.
