Our Yoga Teachers

David Potrait

David Sharpe • Founder

Before Island Yoga, David was a green card holder in the mountains of New Mexico, working as a rock climbing instructor and yoga teacher. The spontaneous call to make a home and Yoga Retreat Center sang a beautiful tune to David in 2009 when Island Yoga was born. His down-to-earth style makes seemingly complex subjects simple and entertaining.

David hosts our popular sunrise Tai Chi sessions as well as teaching regular morning vinyasa classes. Though a dedicated student of numerous spiritual disciplines, he is never guilty of taking life too seriously!
