Develop Your Own home Practice

Home Yoga: Creating sacred time and space for daily spiritual practice

Koh Yao Noi is not the sort of island that everybody visits

1. Choose a Time

Commit to a regular time each day for your practice. This may be the most important discipline because maintaining a daily practice allows you to stay connected to the Divine aspect of yourself.

2. Pick a Space

Create a sacred space within your home. This is your temple. Keep it spotless and adorn it with sacred objects of your own choosing.

3. Rise Early!

Rising with the dawn is a great time for Tai Chi, Yoga & Meditation. Morning practice expands your mind, raises your vibration and opens you to the unlimited potentials which each day brings.

4. Be Creative

Create a “Yoga fusion” from the practices of asana, Tai Chi, pranayama, mantra and meditation. If you stay inventive, you will stay interested!

5. Energy Flows Where Attention Goes

Be sure to always direct your attention and intentions towards the positive aspects in life!

Meditation

Meditation is at the heart of spiritual practice. It is the journey of going beyond the mental constructs of the mind in order to access to the wisdom of our soul. The silent realm that lies beyond mental chatter is the abode of our spirit/soul nature or higher intelligence.

Meditation Resources

Most Powerful Yoga Breathing Meditation Exercise

Sodarshan Chakra Kriya from the Kundalini tradition is one of the most powerful breathing meditations using the mantra “Wa Hey Guru. It is the simplest kriya, but at the same time the hardest. It cuts through all barriers of the neurotic or psychotic inside-nature and is truly transformational. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvtx62lUho0

Tai Chi Resources

I like to think of Tai Chi as Oriental Yoga and as such, it is a practice that allows you to get in touch with and to develop your bio magnetic energy fields. Used principally as a means to gain increased health and vitality, the form also quickly becomes an exquisitely graceful moving meditation which is best practiced early morning.

As well as the health benefits of Tai Chi, many practitioners are also drawn into the healing arts; Japanese Reiki and Sei Ki are just 2 examples.

Nadis are subtle energy channels in the human body that can get blocked due to several reasons. The Nadi Shodhana Pranayama is a breathing technique that helps clear and purify these blocked energy channels, thus allowing the life-force (prana) to flow freely. Clearing mental clutter and calming the mind, this practice also lowers one’s heart rate and helps harmonise the left and right hemispheres of the brain.

Sacred Sound, Mantras & Chanting

The word mantra comes the ancient Sanskrit language and it essentially consists of 2 words, manas and trayate.

The Most Common & Popular Breathing Exercises

Manas stands for mind and trayate is a verb that means to liberate or set free. Thus the complete meaning would be “that which liberates the mind from material captivity” All the artists below are masters in the use of mantra through the medium of sacred chanting.
