Ten days of yoga, meditation, pranayama, silence, mantra’s and Tibetan Buddhism practices in the beauty of the Himalayas. Experience the Himalayas ancient name “The mysterious land of the Gods” and breath in the majesty and peace of the stunning snow-capped mountains. Wake up with the sun rising up over the snowcapped mountains, meditate within the extraordinary sights of the purple flower valley. Inhale the crisp mountain air and absorb the beauty of the mountain peaks at sunrise as you step on your yoga mat on the rooftop. Take time for yourself to reflect, to hike through the stunning valleys, enjoy silence or explore the local village. Get welcomed by the friendly Ladakhi’s and invited into their traditional houses, or take the opportunity to join them on the land to experience the traditional summer harvest of apricots, mustard and barley.

This Yoga Retreat includes the exploration of the traditional Buddhist cultural heritage of Ladakh and its ancient monasteries, authentic, high quality and ecological accommodation in a remote farmer’s village, daily morning yoga classes, meditation, pranayama, specialized workshops, yin and restorative yoga afternoon classes, kirtan and Tibetan mantra’s under the stars.


August 27: Afternoon welcome ceremony in hotel Leh, sunset at Shanti stupa. We advise to take this day for rest and acclimatisation, especially if you arrived in the morning.

August 28: Morning meditation & yoga class. Visit of the ancient Royal Palace of Shey and Thikse monastery, afternoon visit of 11th century Monastery of Hemis.

August 29: Morning meditation & yoga class,  after breakfast visit of the Unesco heritage of Alchi monastery, famous for its unique architecture and Buddhist mural paintings. Later drive to our Eco Hotel and retreat location in the village of Hemischukpachan. (1hr 45min drive from Leh)

August 30- September 4: Morning pranayama, meditation and yoga classes.

9.30: breakfast.

10:30-16:30: free time to walk in the village, hike to surrounding villages, enjoy the stunning mountains views and silence, sit down with a book, visit the local monastery and traditional Ladakhi families. Or take the opportunity to participate in the harvest activities of barley, mustard, apricots and local vegetables.

16:30- 18.30: evening elemental yin & restorative yoga class.

19:00-20:00: Dinner buffet at the Eco Hotel. One evening we will have dinner in a traditional Ladakhi house and kitchen, with a local family who will explain about their daily life, traditions and customs. On some evenings there will be an evening program with kirtan, mantra’s and meditation.

*2 afternoon workshops and a silent walk will be scheduled during our stay in the village, and optional visits to nearby monasteries are possible upon request.

September 5: Morning yoga class and closing ceremony. After breakfast drive back to Leh with a visit to Likir monastery on the way.

Veerle is a Certified Yoga Teacher E-RYT 200 RYT 500 level in vinyasa flow, pranayama, yin and restorative yoga.

Total Cost€ 1,200includes accommodation and meals
